Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
I will be running the BUPA Great Manchester Run on May 20th 2012 as part of Sadie Rose Clifford's Team! Sadie was born fit and healthy but was diagnosed with Stage 4 neuroblastoma at 14 months and has endured many gruelling cancer treatments here in the UK, including intensive high dose chemotherapy, radiotherapy, a stem cell transplant and major surgery to remove her primary tumour.
Sadly, almost at the end of her treatment last summer, brave little Sadie suffered a relapse and a tumour was discovered on the right side of her brain for which she had to go through life-threatening surgery. She has just finished another course of intense radiotherapy.
Neuroblastoma has an 80% chance of relapse and there is no treatment available in the UK so now Sadie’s best chance of beating it long-term lies in America, where they can provide her with specialised immune therapy. This potentially life-saving treatment is likely to cost at least £500,000.
The NB Alliance helps children like Sadie by funding their treatment abroad and supporting their families. They also campaign for research into treatment in this country so that desperately sick children do not have to travel abroad for their treatment.
I am also running in memory of Sophie Atay who, like Sadie, was born fit and healthy and diagnosed with Neuroblastoma Stage 4 when she was 15 months old. Sophie raised over £1million for the 2Simple Trust (now the NB Alliance) in her short life as well as raising awareness world wide for this horrible disease.
All donations made to this page will go direct to the Neuroblastoma Alliance to help sweet Sadie Rose Clifford receive the life-saving treatment she so deserves.
Please donate whatever you can afford for her. No amount is too small. Thank you!
June 26th 2012:
I am heartbroken to have to say that our beautiful Sadie Rose lost her brave battle against neuroblastoma on Monday June 25th 2012 at 5.15pm. She was an inspirational little girl and will be remembered with so much love by so many people. Love and prayers for all her family and friends and everyone who loves her. We will continue her brave fight against this terrible disease in her sweet name. Rest in peace, Sadie Rose Clifford. xxxxx
