BUPA Great North Run 2008 · 5 October 2008 ·
Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.
We have now run the Great Yorkshire Run in Sheffield and the very tough Great North Run too, aren't we good!!
Mark ran the Great North as a monkey and I toughed out a few miles as a lion.
We ran for Anthony Nolan Trust, for Mark's friend Aidy.
Mark did physiology at Liverpool with Aidy, who later became a journalist. He was such a genuine, lovely bloke that he was referred to as "Nice guy Aidy". In 2006 he was diagnosed with Leukaemia. Aidy did a lot of work to raise the profile of bone marrow donation (you may have seen him on the news or in the papers). He also won awards for his blog www.baldyblog.freshblogs.co.uk
Unfortunately Aidy recently lost his fight with leukaemia.
We would like to do our bit and raise as much as possible for this really worthy cause, we've not quite met our target yet.
We would be very grateful to anyone who parts with any of their hard earned cash, however big or small.
Go on, give yourself that warm fuzzy feeling!!
You even get to sponsor us for two runs for the price of one, and two people for the price of one - what a bargain!!
Lots of love,
Sonya and Mark.x
