Story

For those of you who know me, the picture has been doctored. Photoshop has given me a much fatter face than in reality. For those kind souls who don't know me but have come to give much-needed money for the appeal, let me tell you that I look more like George Clooney. Having said that, thanks a bunch for taking time to come here and pledge for the South London Press Silver Lining Appeal. There are thousands of charities in need of assistance, this is my charity of choice. It's 24 years since my first London Marathon and that took me 3 hours and 31 minutes. I'm expecting to cross the line in seven hours and 45 minutes. It's going to me a long day - so if you see me, I'll be the one at the back of the field, do be kind and give me a sandwich or some chocolate. And now some of the official blurb:

Thank you for joining the South London Press campaign to raise money for the King's Silver Lining Appeal.

Your donation will help kids from across South London and beyond for many years to come.

We want your kindness to be recognised, so give us your name and street address and we'll add you to our Roll of Honour.

Many thanks for your support, and we hope to see you lining the Marathon route on April 23.

Don't forget - if you have a fundraising event and want to be featured in the paper, call the King's Fundraising Department on 020 7346 3456.

Thanks Paul
