Story

WE MADE IT!!!   -  Picture is at top of Scafell Pike - notice the amazing views!

Wow what an experience.  We have many stories to tell, so here are just a few. Katrina managed Ben Nevis after wearing 4 inch heals the night before at the year 11 prom!  Ryan managed to stumble down Ben Nevis with one sole falling off one boot - we didn't realise it was possible to do this challenge in flip-flops!  Sally and Diana were OK going up but managed to look like 90 year olds coming down, if it wasn't for those walking sticks they'd still be there!  Brian and Diana coped with being up for 43 hours, driving to Scotland, climbing Ben Nevis, driving to Lake District as they couldn't leave Watford until after the prom!  Richard and Amy just climbed without a care in the world like they were going for a Sunday afternoon stroll in the park.  Oh to be young again!  So much for doing this challenge at the best time of the year.  We went prepared for all types of weather but didn't need the sun screen - we treked through snow on Ben Nevis, navigated through clouds on Ben Nevis and Scafell Pike and started Snowdon in the pouring rain.  After one hour on Snowdon though the sun shone through and we got our first view for three days.

We all extremely proud of ourselves as this challenge was a little harder than anticipated, mainly due to lack of sleep.  We've had lots of laughter and have now been left with many happy memories and some photos.  The children were all amazing and would've finished all the mountains a lot quicker if they didn't have to put up with Diana and Sally!

Thank you all once again for your sponsorship and support and I am sure Parmiter's School and The Teenage Cancer Trust appreciate your generosity.

Six Big One Small x

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

Put your hand into your wallet, dig deep and donate generously PLEASE!

Six Big One Small is: 6 big people - Brian, Diana, Sally, Katrina, Richard, Ryan and 1 small person - Amy!

Our aim is to walk, climb, scramble, crawl and drag each other up and down the three highest mountains in Scotland (Ben Nevis - 1344m), England (Scafell Pike - 978m) and Wales (Snowdon - 1085m) over the weekend of 27th to 29th June.

Money raised from our amazing and outstanding achievement (hopefully) will be used to provide an outside, covered seating area for the students of Parmiter's. However, the school also wishes to raise money to support other young people.  Therefore we will also be donating to the Teenage Cancer Trust, a charity devoted to improving the lives of teenagers and young adults with cancer.

For more information about the Teenage Cancer Trust please visit their website at www.teenagecancertrust.org

Don't Think Act Now!

Thank you all for your support both financially and emotionally.
