For those of you that know me well you will have noticed by now that the image to the left is somewhat out of date. It is in fact 7 years out of date and was taken in 2001, which I for one find particularly scary.
This means of course that I am now 41 and no spring chicken with a spreading waistline and more chins than I care to mention.
I have wanted to do more in the charity department for some time. Yes I donate to Cancer Research monthly but this I have always thought is a little too easy and I have always wanted to do something a bit more adventurous.
I have considered doing the Manchester 100 for some three years now but never got round to organising myself. This year is different. It often takes an event to trigger you in these things and i have certainly just received one of those.
I recently discovered that my friends mum, Enid.... Hi Enid! ......has been diagnosed with Leukaemia which has come as a bit of a shock to all her friends and family.
This has been the catalyst that motivates Chris Chisnall and I to undertake this event and Christies Hospital in Manchester is our chosen charity, so please be generous in sponsoring us both here and Chris's site
www.justgiving.com/Chris ChisnallI hope you can donate all you can and join us in wishing Enid well during the intensive chemotherapy and a speedy recovery thereafter.
