Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My name is Simon Mahoney and I am blind and a member of Blind Veterans UK, (formerly St Dunstans)
Last year I walked the 84 miles along Hadrians Wall to raise money for Help For Heros and to raise awareness of Blind Veterans UK.
My challenge this year is to walk the 61 miles from Ashbourne, over the White Peak, Dark Peak, Bleaklow Moor, Lady Bower reservoir and then into the Blind Veterans centre in Sheffield. Although the walk is shorter than last year's, the terrain is much tougher. I will be accompanied by a local cadet group, as it will not be safe for me to go it alone.
As I am approaching my 70th birthday, this may be my last challenge, so I am asking you to please give generously to Blind Veterans UK as they were, and are, vital in helping myself and thousands of others when the lights went out for us.
Thank you,
Simon
