Story

the total is still growing...

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have chosen to do a sponsored parachute jump for Alzheimer’s Society to raise funds to help the Society continue to provide help and support to people with Alzheimers and their families.

As some of you will already know my Mother was diagnosed with Alzheimers some three years ago and unfortunately the disease continues to take its toll and will only get slowly worse. Mum cared for my Grandmother during her last years before she sadly passed away in her sleep from Dementia, so of course Mum is very aware of what she has to face and how much she will become dependent upon her carers, my Father, my Sister, myself, friends and other family members.

Alzheimer’s Society has already provided great help, support and invaluable advice to my family and they will continue to provide this support free of charge for as long as we need it.

Therefore I believe it is only right for me to give something back and this is why I am going to do the sponsored parachute jump, yes this is fulfilling a lifelong dream of mine to skydive and parachute, so together with an experienced parachutist I will jump out of a plane at 10,000 feet and freefall at 120mph for 5,000 feet at which point the parachute will open and we will slow to a graceful decent to the ground.

I am asking all of you to please give generously and ALL of the money raised will go to the Alzheimer’s Society, and not just the balance after the costs have been paid - I will pay all of the admin, booking, airfield and insurance fees myself out of my own pocket and not out of the amount raised. So I ask you all please dig deep and give as much as you can, anything you can give will be much appreciated – with your help I hope to raise over £800.00. Thank you.

The following is taken from the Alzheimer’s Society sponsored parachute jump booklet, which I will be happy to email to anyone whom would like a copy.
