Story
UPDATE: Well, it's all over now and it feels like a bit of an anti-climax. It was so exciting and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The more I think about it, the better it seems! I had to wear special overalls and lots of webbing, but being hooked onto a lovely man was cool! I'm not too sure about the 10-second free fall but it was amazing when the parachute opened and we slowed down and we could see for miles.
Dave was pointing out the different areas to me. I saw Belvoir Castle and could see my family and friends waving their Union Jacks... then we had a very soft landing.
Would I do it again? Well if I do it again within the next 12 months I can have a discount!
Seriously, I really do want to thank everyone who has sponsored me and hopefully when all the money is in, along with Gift Aid, at least six disadvantaged children will get a wonderful holiday and see the sea for the first time in their lives.
Again many, many thanks to everyone who supported me! I will post the final amount raised when it's all in.

You're never too old to do silly things! That's what I'm always telling my grandchildren - and now I'm going to prove it to them by doing a sky dive at the age of 79.
I've never done anything risky in my life and I felt like doing something different for my 80th birthday. But I can't wait that long so will be jumping out of an aeroplane on Saturday, 10th November, 2012, shortly after my 79th birthday.
The Derbyshire Children's Holiday Centre is one of the charities supported by my local church and I, too, have supported them for many years.
