Cross 3000 miles of harsh terrain. Eat nothing but curry. Get really ill.
And do it all on a rickshaw! Yeah that's the idea folks. Andy Hoang has decided that it would be a brilliant idea to travel across the length and breadth of India with 2 complete strangers, without a shread of a clue of how to fix a vehicle, on one of the most unreliable vehicles mankind has ever seen...
At the end of the trip the Ricksshaw will be given to a local family who can use it as a means to make a living. But before we give it to them straight out, we're going to make sure it works by ragging it across the whole country, from Kerala in the south to Darjeeling in the north, taking in a bit of danger, cricket and curry on the way.
Get those Imodiums ready nurse, this isn't gonna be a pretty sight...
Our adventures will be duly recorded on http://dosaboys.blogspot.com/ and those of you who do the honorable thing and sponsor us will get first dibs at the photos. You know it's a bargain!
Any funds raised on this site will go towards Sherborne's 4 Leaf Clover Club, an oasis of calm in Sherborne, set up to raise awareness of mental health issues. Local people can come in and discuss issues and have a cup of tea, surf the web on the cafes machines. It's a really wonderful place and, while working in Sherborne I was so impressed by the work they did and the care that they provided for local people. An invaluable resource in Sherborne, your sponsorship will help to support local people with mental health problems. Remember that it is likely that at some point in everyone's life they will suffer from some form of mental health problem so please give generously.
We'll be pimping our wagon too, so any sponsorship over £100 gets some form of recognition on the rickshaw. This is a great way for small companies to get their brand recognised. Loaded magazine will be there and we will be in local press too. What a bargain to get your brand into the local and national papers for only £100!
The way this works is pretty cool too - if you're a UK citizen you can get the taxman to pay towards your contribution if you tick the gift aid box when you donate.
That way, for every pound you raise the taxman will pay something like 25% on top too - that way a donation of £100 will actually be more like £125 where the taxman has paid a little more!
Bargain!
