Story

Back in 1993, a lowly medical student came to Nazareth in northern Israel to learn a bit about medicine from the doctors and nurses, and to learn a little bit more about the Middle East from the good people of Nazareth itself. That medical student was me, and the experiences I had in Nazareth have been formative in my life, and I look back on my time there with enormous fondness and gratitude for the gift those people gave me. Now, in 2009, I want to do just a little bit to return the favour. I'm going to join with the Nazareth bike riders, as we set off from Amman in Jordan, to cycle to Nazareth. The journey is 400km, and will take us 5 days. I'm getting all trained up [see my blog!] and wired up and fired up for this, and your help will be greatly appreciated - not just by me, but by the people of Nazareth, as their hospital and town send out a beacon of tolerance, unity and humanity.
