Story
Breast cancer is nothing new; we've all read the stats and the reports, haven't we?
But if someone told you personally they had this disease, someone you loved or cared about, and asked for your help, you'd be supportive wouldn't you? I know you would because that the kind of person you are!
Well I am one of the lucky ones - but I've lost or had close friends and relatives affected by this terrible disease and it is devastating to watch someone you love, suffer.
So now I have an opportunity to do something to help. I'm going (way) outside my comfort zone and taking part in the gruelling (for me) Lochs and Glens bike ride, cycling over 200 miles (yikes!) from Inverness to Glasgow.
The aim is to raise over £1million to fund pioneering new research and treatments at the University of Nottingham, helping to detect breast cancer early and stop it from spreading.
As ever, I have left it to the 'final furlong' to ask my family, friends and colleagues for generous donations! I really would appreciate your help in reaching - and exceeding my target if possible. The pictures will be worth it and it is a great cause!
