At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Hello everyone!

As I'm sure most of you know already, I've decided to go for a little bike ride.

On 6th June I'll be dipping my back wheel in the Pacific Ocean and setting off from San Francisco, U.S.A., on a 3,846-mile spin across mountains, deserts and hundreds of miles of farmland. 52 days and several saddle sores later, I should be throwing my bike into the Atlantic Ocean near a little town called Portsmouth on the East Coast.

While I'm at it, I thought I'd try getting some money out of you all.

The Alzheimer's Society not only researches into cures for dementia, but also offers considerable support to sufferers of dementia, as well as their families who are often the ones to care for them.  Despite Billy Connelly's take on dementia (it's a world to yourself and revenge on the f****ing kids), it really is a horrible illness.  Most of us know someone who's had it and the chances are some of us may unfortunately suffer from it ourselves later in life so it's well worth giving them some of your hard earned cash.

So, let's have your wallets out to support a good cause while I do something stupid.

Thanks

Sean
