Psoriasis is a common skin condition affecting 2-3% of the population of the United Kingdom and Ireland in fact 4% of europeans suffer from it.
It is very simply a speeding up of the usual replacement processes of the skin. Normally skin cells take about 21-28 days to replace themselves; in psoriasis this process is greatly accelerated, and skin cells can be replaced every 2-6 days. This results in an accumulation of skin cells on the surface of the skin, in the form of a psoriatic plaque. This process is the same wherever it occurs on the body.
I have suffered the effects First hand when the patches first appeared nearly 8 years ago were it got so bad i would not leave the house the state of depression was low, i battled on to the state were it is under control.
MY next Guinness World Record Attempt to swim the futhest distance underwater of 71km and total submerged time of 51 hours to break to world record for charity will be held in malta september 2011.for futher infomation on psoriasis or on the record links are below.
