Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Tariq and I have been good friends since we met at Edinburgh University, and we’re delighted to have places for the 2013 London Marathon.
Although we’re both active people, I think it’s fair to say that neither of us are natural born runners. 26.2 miles has never seemed further and we’re daunted by the magnitude of the task ahead.
Having said that, we’re absolutely committed to our goal. We started our training just before Christmas and have months of hard (probably rain soaked) training in front of us. Throughout this time, we’ll be updating a blog of our progress and training experiences and you can access this below.
The marathon is a great excuse to get in shape, but far more important than our commitment to run is our commitment to raise funds in support of SCOREscotland. SCOREscotland is a voluntary organisation that does some fantastic work in the west of Edinburgh by working in partnership to address the causes and effects of racism and promote race equality.
In these increasingly difficult times, creative fundraising must be used and this is where we come in! The knowledge that every penny of the money we raise will go towards such a worthy cause will surely be enough to keep us going on the day.
So please dig deep, and donate now.
Many thanks, Pete and Tariq
