PROGRESS UPDATE: I completed the distance following some outdoor swimming in the Lakes on the 24th & 25th Oct and then a 2k outdoor swim on Wednesday 29th Oct - v.bracing given the air temp of 2C!

The Aspire Channel Swim is a challenge to swim the distance of the English Channel (22 miles) by 7th December 2008.

That's 1416 lengths to me and you - with less than 8 weeks to go I have to do at least 177 lengths a week!

I will be doing it mainly in the outdoorpool at Cambridge, but will also be swimming in a tarn and lake too in order to increase the challenge.
