Story
I have Hughes Syndrome (also known as APS) it means I have sticky blood which causes blood clots in any part of the body at any time. It can also cause many other issues.
In June 2013 I suffered a DVT in my left leg and in March 2014 I had blood clots in my lungs. During this time they also believe that I may have had clots in my liver and other areas although they weren't diagnosed. I am now on blood thinners for life. I am one of the lucky ones. I survived the blood clots and the consultants at the hospital recognised the symptoms straight away. Many woman don't know they have it till they have sadly gone through multiple miscarriages or still birth.
In Sept 2015 I returned to something I had to give up, running and took on Bristol Half. I didn't realise that was going to be my first part of challenging myself and working towards overcoming some of the issues surrounding hughes. I have this amazing opportunity to run the London Marathon so have decided that I should try and raise some funds for a cause that is close to my heart, please support me and help me make my run evening more amazing.
