My name is Sarah, and I am 20 years old. When I was 17 I went to South Africa and Swaziland with Scouting to work on the Thirst for life project. This year I returned to Volunteer again and when I got home I realized that I wanted to do more volunteering abroad. I contacted ICS and am now part of the VSO scheme. 

I am really excited to be going to the Philippines in January 2015 to work with Deaf and disabled children in the city of Cebu. This is an opportunity of a life time for myself as my experiences in Africa have shown what a difference a little help can make to peoples lives, and what a difference it will make to me.

To raise funds I will be running Christmas stalls and working on outside bars for the family business; I will be running raffles and I hope to do some bag packing too. 

When I get home I will Promote VSO ICS as I want other local young people to have the same chance as me and to see what I have seen.
