Story
After 2 very tricky and stressful pregnancies, and following the birth of our daughter, on 8th February 2013 I found a lump in my breast. I knew straight away that it was a tumour and Southend Hospital confirmed our fears. In fact, I have 2 tumours and a cancerous lymph node.
Southend Hospital Breast Unit strive to be the best in the country and offer such fantastic care, both medical and emotional, along with their counterparts in oncology and radiotherapy. I am grateful to be in good hands and they tell me they can treat my cancer successfully.
Anyone who knows me well will know that I am not one to sit back, wallow in it, and let the world pass me by in a haze of depression. I am determined to make this a positive experience and really feel that I am meant to make a difference for other people. Let's be honest, without other people raising money and being equally determined, this disease would be neither treatable nor beatable.
BUT, we all need to pull together. I need you to help me make that difference, I can't do it on my own. In return, I promise to concentrate on getting better at the same time as raising some much needed cash for ground-breaking equipment. The NHS is fantastic, but there is so much we can do to help.
Please give as much as you can so that we can all do our bit to help. One day, it might be your Mum, Sister, Daughter who needs that equipment and I would love to be able to say we helped.
Thank you XXX
