Story
On Sunday 5 April 2020 I was due to run the San Francisco half marathon but for obvious reasons the marathon was postponed.
Whilst my back garden in Gatley isn’t quite the same as the Golden Gate Bridge, Marina Boulevard and San Francisco Bay it will, on Saturday 25 April 2020, be my alternative location as I aim to walk 13.1 miles. My plan is to walk rather than run so I can reduce the risk of getting dizzy as I complete each 35 metre lap (a total of approximately 600 😱) !
The reason for this craziness is simple: Inspired by the wonderful efforts of so many I would like to raise money for NHS Charities Together, which is a collective experience representing, supporting and championing the work of the NHS' official charities. NHS Charities give £1million a day to the NHS, providing vital funds to help the NHS do more.
It is the very least I can do during these challenging times to help support the fantastic work of the NHS as we seek to battle through the Coronavirus.
Any support you are able to offer for the walk would be fantastic and greatly appreciated.
