When I lived in countryside Japan for a year, people welcomed me into their lives with infinite warmth and generosity. They are people who love nature and see beauty in simplicity. The old folks I met are unmeasurably positive and cheerful. The countryside Japan has a special place in my heart. Remembering these and now seeing pictures of the destruction as well as people in tears, is so disturbing to me.
