Story

The sandmen are all now safely back doing whatever they were doing before they left. With all the sand having finally fallen out of their ears we are glad to be able to say that once we have amalgamated our teams various fundraising drives we have cleared our target of £3000. A massive thank you to all who donated and to BlueCycle for providing such a quality Jeep, in which to undertake the challenge.

All life depends on water.  This year, instead of enjoying our Christmases of ease and plenty, the Sandmen (Tavis, Guy and James) will be crossing Africa, driving from Plymouth to Banjul to highlight the crucial work that WaterAid does.

BlueCycle have very generously donated a jeep for the expedition, which will be auctioned off for local charities at the end of the journey. Apart from that we'll be roughing it - minimizing our costs so every single penny you donate goes straight to WaterAid.

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: WaterAid will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor us now! We're trying to reach £3000 before we arrive in Banjul.

Many thanks for your support.  Long live the Sandmen!
