Moonlight Walk Half Marathon · 23 November 2006
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page, where you can find out more about our Moonlight Walk for charity and sponsor us online!
"The Moonlight Walk is a ladies only, sponsored, half marathon walk beginning at midnight . The walk will begin and finish at Carrefour Gym on Preston Dock and will take us through Preston city centre, Penwortham and Lostock Hall."
We are taking part in this charity walk to raise money for St.Catherine's Hospice.
"St. Catherine's is a specialist centre that has been providing palliative care for the people of Chorley, Preston and South Ribble since 1985. Funded primarily by local people with the assistance of the N.H.S., it is very much a case of care being provided by the community for the community.
Hospice care is based on the principle of care for the whole person. We seek to create an environment which provides care for physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs where people can live their lives to the full. Most of our patients are suffering from some form of cancer but we also help people with Motor Neurone Disease, advanced Multiple Sclerosis and other life threatening diseases.
Care is given unconditionally to those who need it irrespective of age, sex, race, religious belief or sexual orientation and is without charge. The Hospice caters for a variety of individual needs that we feel will contribute to a patient’s quality of life."
