Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Im running the gruelling tough guy race for make a wish foundation this coming January- they basically give kids with disabilities or life threatening illnesses their wish- be it visit father christmas or a motor day they give it to them- all worth it I think you'll agree.
The Tough guy race is 10 miles cross country. Pretty easy you might think - unfortunately thats not the end of the story- the first eight are run through at times nearly waist high mud and up sheer hills then back to the bottom then up to the top- and repeat again and again and again! After the first eight miles you then enter what is aptly known as the killing fields! Two mile of horrendous obstacles http://www.toughguy.co.uk/?q=node/168 think barbed wire mud crawls burning, hay bales, submerged water tunnels - all done in the freezing january weather.
Ive got to drop about two stone for the event as don't want to be carrying 16 stone over the course and am starting training tomorrow. This will involve running in and out the sea and along the cobbles - this will continue in winter so I get used to the exposure of extreme cold too.Hill running and dieting down to abou 14 stone
