Following the success of the 2015 London to Paris Bike Ride, the Sainsburys colleagues at the Waltham Point depot are embarking on a new cycling challenge between the 16th-19th May 2016. 23 riders, plus our important support vehicle driver will be cycling from the Langlands Park Sainsburys depot in Glasgow, all the way down to the Waltham Point Sainsburys depot in Waltham Abbey. The challenge will be spread over four days and will see us cycle around 420 miles. Averaging just over 100 miles per day, our team will have their work cut out for them!

At various points each day of the ride we plan on visiting thefollowing Sainsburys Depots: Langlands Park – Haydock – Stoke – Stone – Hams Hall– Northampton – Bedford – Rye Park and finally Waltham Point.

Meet the team:

Paul Haynes - Luke Strutt - Mark Woolven - Ali Hussain - Ian Reed - John Eustace - Ian Glazebrook - Lawrence Macrides - Phil Hart - Neil Farley - Steve Bristow - Pjorin Gjelaj - Mick Fitzgerald - Tim Gover Jones - Chris Ball - Gary Howney - Paul Smith - Chris Strutt - Steve Daniel - Colin Wadley - David Summerell - Conor Eustace - Alec Filmer and providing much needed support along the way Steve George (with his legendary cheese and ham rolls).

We will be training hard for the ride, getting out on our bikes as often as possible for team rides and also training individually to make sure we're ready for this epic challenge. We are a team of differing levels of ability and will pride ourselves on supporting one another along the way.

We are riding for the Sainsburys Waltham Point chosen charity of the year which is Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) - a fantastic charity chosen by the colleagues at the depot.

We really appreciate all of your support and thank you for any donations.

With thanks from the Waltham Point Cycle Team
