Eid Mubarak!
Sadaqards has sold around 200 cards & raised over £400 and we would like to say thanks to everyone who helped us to get this far.
Three of us decided to put together Sadaqards after hearing about the floods in Pakistan. Official statistics say that at least 20% of the entire surface of Pakistan has been affected by the floods, with over 1,500 people killed by the waters, and hundreds of thousands more left homeless and stranded. Though Pakistan has been a target of negative press coverage over the past few years, this should not stop a humanitarian crisis being a humanitarian crisis.
We've designed & printed some alternative Eid / greeting cards and they were sold in shops, community centres, masjids, from our blog (http://sadaqards.blogspot.com) and from our folksy (http://sadaqards.folksy.com).
All donations have gone to Islamic Relief, who are part of the Disasters Emergency Relief (DEC). To see examples of the excellent work they do, please visit this site: http://www.flickr.com/photos/islamicreliefuk/sets/72157624557184727/
