Story

What's all this?

Hello! In April 2018 I will be cycling down the length of Vietnam, from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, that's 2000 kms of mountains, jungles and gravel!

I'm part of a team of 20 crazies like me dedicated to raising funds for charities that support at-risk children.The H2H ride is an annual event that has raised over $250,000 since 2009. I'm so proud and privileged to be a part of this incredible endeavor!

But why are YOU doing this Sabrina?

Coming to Vietnam was a big step off the beaten path. If you know me from India, then you know I was trapped in a thankless job like a million other mid-level IT workers. In 2015, I had the opportunity to change professions and move to another country. This is not something Indian women in their twenties are encouraged to do, but I've been privileged enough to defy those stereotypes.

Teaching in Vietnam has been a revelation. I can say in no uncertain terms, living and working here has changed my life. This is my opportunity to give back to the children in Vietnam and give them access to education, healthcare, and financial aid. Doing the H2H ride is a wonderful chance to be a part of such an undertaking. I hope you support this effort!

While this is an excellent opportunity for me to explore the beautiful Vietnamese country and get buns of steel; I'm obviously slightly terrified at the prospect of cycling up and down mountains all day long in the burning heat and humidity. Your support helps to keep me super motivated even as I train in the months leading up to the ride.

The ride will support 5 charities (more info below) that focus on helping disadvantaged children in Vietnam break out of a cycle of poverty. They do this by:

* organising scholarships

* providing practical vocational training and English classes

* supporting the recovery of victims of human trafficking and slavery and reuniting families.

* building schools / libraries

+ more!

Alright, how can I help?

You can sponsor me via this Just Giving page!

H2H is run by volunteers so 100% of donations goes directly to charity. All expenses are covered by riders, sponsors and UK gift aid.
