Story
Thank you!
Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart to all of you who have donated to this great cause and supported me along the way. Your kind donations will be put to really great use and will help to raise awareness about this devastating desease. Please have a look at www.forlucie.com and http://www.meningitisuk.org to see why I chose to run 'For Lucie' and where your money has gone to help.
Thanks again!
Love, Lou x
London Marathon
I finished the London Marathon! What a day... It took me longer than I'd hoped after spending over 30 mins in an ambulance at the half way point, due to having stomach cramps. After calling PIers (my boyfriend) to let him know I was dropping out, I had a few tears, some paracetemol and a word with myself and hobbled on. It was tough going, but thanks to all of my wonderful family, friends and inspirational people I know and have met along the way, I completed the challenge I set myself at the end of last yr, of running Brighton and London Marathons, only 7 days apart. Woo hoo!
Brighton Marathon Update
Just to let you know Piers and I both successfully completed Brighton Marathon last Sunday 10/4/11. It was a great day with amazing support and beautiful sunshine down in Brighton. Thank you all so much for your kind donations, they're really appreciated and go to a truly great cause. Please pass this link on to anyone you know, who might be able to spare a few pennies. London marathon is next Sunday and I am taking it easy this week to prepare to run 26.2 miles again.
Thanks again everyone!!
The story
In April 2011 I will be running Brighton and London Marathons (which are only one week apart on 10th and 17th- eek!) and would really appreciate your support.
I recently heard about Lucinda Page and her family and would like to dedicate these events to them...
Lucie tragically died at 4pm on Monday 1st November 2010 from Meningitis, aged only 16 days. You can read about Lucie and her heartbreaking story here: www.forlucie.com
Meningitis is a silent killer and can kill in as little as 4 hours.
Help other families avoid this loss by donating to Meningitis UK.
Please dig deep and give as much as you can.
Thanks!! xx Lou
