Story
On the 11th of November my happy, smiley, gorgeous 13 year old brother had a sudden brain haemorrhage and was rushed to Sheffield Children's hospital where they had to operate emergency surgery to save his life. When we arrived at the hospital we were told there was a high chance that Rafi wouldn't survive the brain surgery that he needed. After a horrible long wait in the intensive care waiting room we were eventually told that Rafi had pulled through. He spent about a month in intensive care and then was eventually moved onto a neurosciences ward elsewhere in the hospital. After spending a couple of weeks on the ward Rafi unfortunately had another haemorrhage and was rushed into theatre again. We were told that if he bled again there was also a high chance he couldn't pull through. Thankfully, due to Raf's amazing strength and all the Surgeons, Doctors and Nurses he pulled through yet again. The past few months have been absolute hell for my whole family as we are close and this has been such a shock to us all but Rafi is continuing to impress us with his progress and the support from the staff at the hospital is amazing. I can’t put in words how grateful i am towards the hospital for saving Rafis life and this 10k run is just the beginning of all the fundraising i am aiming to do! We’re hoping that Raf will be well enough to leave the hospital for the day to watch us all do the race! It’s going to be a long recovery for our Rafi but hopefully one day he'll be back to the cute, chatty, giddy Rafi again.
Please please donate generously! You will be helping us raise money for new equipment, treatments, therapies, improvements to the hospital, medical research and loads more!!
Myself, my family, the hospital and mostly Rafi will be extremely grateful for any donations.
