Story
In 2014 the Corps of Her Majesty's Royal Marines will celebrate their 350th anniversary. To commemorate this date, serving and retired Royal Marines Commandos will come together to take part in the1664 Challenge, an incredible feat of endurance that will test to the limits all 4 elements of Commando spirit; courage, determination, unselfishness and cheerfulness in the face of adversity. It will be our unique ability not to give in but to succeed in the face of adversity that will ensure we complete this challenge and raise the team target of £500,000. The money will go to the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund, who will use it to advantage Royal Marines and their families who have been disadvantaged due to conflict or for many many other reasons. The Royal Marine family is a very close knit community which goes to extreme lengths to ensure it can be looked after with the correct level of care for life, this is exactly what this challenge is all about.
Beginning in February 2014, Royal Marines Commando's will ski 1664km, sail 1664miles, cycle1664km, canoe the channel and run 1664km a total of 4136miles - Royal Marines will be raising funds for Royal Marines and the wider Royal Marine family, so please dig deep and donate now.
