Brighton Marathon 2012 · 15 April 2012 ·
In April 2012 Martin Hoare, Julian Allison, Andy Farmer, Richard Weaver and Oliver Hoare will be taking part in the Brighton Marathon. Team Rowledge for Rheumatoid is raising money for NRAS and thank you for taking the time to visit out JustGiving page.
Rheumatoid arthritis forces the body’s immune system to attack its own tissues. It is a chronic, progressive and disabling auto-immune disease, affecting 680,000 people in the UK, 12,000 of which are children. Currently there is NO CURE. The disease causes swelling, extreme fatigue, stiffness and it damages the cartilage and bone around the joints. RA can cause the joint to need replacement or to be permanently pinned in situ, rendering it completely immobile. At its most intense it can affect the whole body including the internal organs such as the lungs, heart and eyes.
NRAS provides, support, information and advocacy, which aims to help people live a better life with their RA. They provide support for those living with RA, their families and carers. Through better understanding NRAS encourages people to actively take control of their disease, instead of it controlling them, and help return a quality of life that many lose.
Please help us, help NRAS and donate today because remember, in Greater London alone, the number of people living with RA will fill Wembley Stadium! That's 90,000 people.
