Our story
Welcome to the HQ Rowathon from Abingdon to London – as part of the Sea Cadets Row The World campaign!
The Sea Cadets are seeking to raise £250k to help reach our £5.6m target for the New Ship Appeal. As a centre-piece Sea Cadets from across the UK plan to take on an amazing nautical challenge between 18 – 21 April to Row the World in 80hours! That’s 24,900 miles... This is all made possible with the help of British Rowing, who are donating static rowers at spots around the county.
We at HQ wanted to do something to show our lead and support for this incredible event. So we have set ourselves the challenge to row for real from Abingdon near Oxford and finish 100 miles later, at Tower Bridge, London over the same three day period! Led by the CEO the HQ team of 15 good and true, including the Captain Sea Cadets, will row in relay throughout. 100 miles in just 3 days is a tough call, particularly as many have never rowed before! Will we make it? Please encourage us by giving all you can and watch our progress on our website during the event.
Meet the team!
