Story
"There can be no place more desolate, despairing and awful."
The challenge was to land on Rockall and survive solo on this isolated rock thereby setting two new records:
1. The longest occupation of Rockall in history
2. The longest ever solo occupation of Rockall.
Nick completed his challenge setting a new occupation record of 45 days in July 2014.
Few people have ever spent more than a few hours on Rockall. To put this in perspective, approximately 2,000 people have stood on the summit of Everest since 1953, 12 have landed on the moon in the 40 years since 1969, and over 1,000 visit Antarctica every year.
The motivation behind this enterprise is primarily to raise funds for ‘Help for Heroes’. For more information, please visit http://www.rockallsolo.com .
