1 many thanks everyone we have exceeded the £1000 target
2 i decided to banish the demons of London - ie set my self a challenge of beating my London time by running the Blackpool marathon - ACHEIVED - in 4 hr 37- next time faster !
A post marathon update, folks, more details are on the blog, but the day was amazing , wonderful attmosphere, great support from family at miles 13&22, runners world internet friends at mile 17, and by text previously from Nightingale House. Running with Pippa from Buckley runners for 17 miles, then with my MP3 player for a few mles- i switched it off for more attmosphere near the end when i KNEW i would finish- and for my first marathon of 7 i RAN ALL THE WAY- but slowly to finish in 4hrs51mins. So a big thankyou to everyone - and as you can see we will have exceeded the £1000 target . big thanks
Yes its nearly marathon weekend, and i'm very excited for 2 reasons
1 because i am really looking forward to the marathon, the experience, the attmosphere & everything. I WILL try and think of you all when i need encouragement around mile 18 or so. And of course my run is dedicated you you all, my family & friends & to Nightingale House.
2 because we are rapidly approaching the £1,000 target i set to raise- a big thanks to everyone, and in the last week to Aunty Audrey and your many friends @WI and other groups, and Islwyn Jones of the Mold Nightingale House support Group.

With your help over the last 6 years together we have raised several £1000 for local charities, please help once more& as always ; any amount is welcome. With your encouragement i have completed marathons in Dublin, London, Blackpool and around Lake Vyrnwy since 2001 and still chasing that elusive 4hrs, or more likely 4hrs 19. See my training ( & injury) blog at www.blogmold.blogspot.com. thanks for your help
Here's a request - what inspirational music would YOU play on an MP3 player? Help please add your suggestion in the comments box. I will need them at mile 16 , mile 18 and miles 20 to 26 !! Thanks !!!
