Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

"When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, we can rebuild even more lives."

After a year away from All Stars due to surgery, I'm back and raising money for the Barbarians team.  As part of this, I've selected to raise money for Stroke Association.

I lost my grandad (Billy) in the summer of 2019 - he suffered his first stroke 25 years prior which led to me only really ever knowing him in a wheelchair and only being able to say a handful of words.  Whilst grieving for him, my gran then suffered a mini stroke.

It seems fitting to raise money for Stroke Association (despite Billy always wanting to support Help for Heroes) since I know of the great work Speakability do.

Any donations, big or small, are massively appreciated.

Much love - #32
