Story

On March 19th a plucky band of Fullerians will be finishing a 355km bike ride to the Stade De France in Paris. Aiming to help raise £15,000 for Watford General Hospitals Starfish Ward so that they can build a new Sensory Room for their young patients.  One patient in particular inspired this fund raising effort... Lola McCabe.

Lola McCabe is a Fullerian through and through. She can be seen shouting at her daddy or playing with her sister down the club usually just before she gets covered in mud. Unfortunately this Christmas, Lola was diagnosed with leukaemia which has turned her world upside down. She spent Christmas at Great Ormond Street Hospital and spends a lot of time receiving treatment much closer to home at Watford General Hospital Children's Ward. The care she has received has been amazing and whilst her prognosis is good, she has a long journey ahead of her.

The Children's Ward at Watford General is trying to raise funds to replace their old schoolroom with a fully kitted-out sensory room, a goal they are still a fair bit away from realising. A sensory room would be a phenomenal addition to the ward, creating a therapeutic space to explore and engage with during some of the toughest times these children and families will face.

Family, friends, and Fullerians have been keen to raise and give back and it would be an honour to put all of our love, efforts, and hard-earned money towards a project close to our hearts and maybe even something that will help a future Fullerian, friend or family member in the future.
