Postponed but watch this space as the ride for notts mencap WILL happen.
UPDATE WITH TEC INFO COMMING SOON.
Hi, my name is Tony and I'm going to do a big bike ride for charity - again. This time with other riders!!
First of all, SORRY to all the people who heard me say I'll never do that again, last time out was such a massive succes, (I raised just under two thousand pounds for the Nottingham Rape Crisis Center) but I can't stop without completing the distance! Yay more monster blisters and bruising - maybe i'm mad
Secondly, I am a little wiser after last time and can use everything I have learned to do better!!
Finally whilst this may not be my last charity event, it will be the last "big bike ride" I organise, so please donate and help my chosen charity.
For this year I have chosen NOTTINGHAM MENCAP Reg No. 1046081. who support people with learning disabilities and their families and carers. These guys do some amazing things for local people and are an absolute life line to some. For more info visit http://www.nottinghammencap.org.uk but don't forget to come back here and leave a donation, we can't make this work without your support, cheers :)
We start on Saturday the 14th July at 9am from the gates of Nottingham Forest Football Club.
On the ride, things are going to be a little different. That through the night riding stuff last year was super dangerous and had to go, so this year will be done in daily stages. The plan is to cycle about 120 miles per day and camp at night. So although it is not a continuous bike ride this year, there is a greater chance of myself as well as the other riders to get further than before. Also, whilst the route (Notts to Skeg to Bangor to Notts - 463 miles) is basically the same, smoother easier roads have been selected. Last time I managed 246 miles, with these few changes we should smash that and hopefully roll back into Notts having cycled the width of the country, twice! The main objective is to raise loads for charity, last time I raised a massive £1778.90. To see the last challenge visit http://www.justgiving.com/challenge1 but please come back.
The other riders are:
Alex who is supporting The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, Reg No. 1081009
Mike who is supporting Breathtakers, Reg No. 1125330
Pete who is supporting The Nottinghamshire And Lincolnshire Air Ambulance Charitable Trust, Reg No. 1017501
