Story

***UPDATE: 26 Nov - We've successfully completed our Annapurna trek! It was an amazing experience. We got a little breathy at altitude but the views were spectacular. Our photos are here. You can learn more about our experience here in Fay's blog.***

At the start of November, Peter, Fay and our friends Meg and Liam, are trekking Nepal's Annapurna Circuit and Sanctuary to raise money for the British charity MAG (Mines Advisory Group - www.maginternational.org). Having travelled in Laos and Cambodia where landmines are still a terrible reality, we believe strongly in the importance of MAG's work. We are undertaking this challenging, 21 day Himalayan trek independently - That means no group and no guide. It's at high altitude and will be a real test of endurance. The highest point, Thorung La Pass is 5,416m (17,769ft). We are of course funding the "expedition" ourselves, so all money raised will go to the charity MAG. For more info on the trek have a look at: www.yetizone.com/annapurna_map.htm

Now the technical bit: Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor us: The Mines Advisory Group gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Any donations are greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

About the charity

Every single day, 13 people are killed or injured because of landmines and other explosive weapons. Half of all civilian casualties are children. MAG finds and destroys these weapons to save lives and rebuild futures; helping people to grow crops, attend school and build homes.
