Story
May was just 4 years old when she was diagnosed with a rare cancer, rhabdomyosarcoma, in 2009. She was so brave going through all that horrible treatment. We had to work so hard to hide from her just how scared we were for her.
The next summer a family friend nominated May to have a wish with Make-A-Wish UK. She wished to be a princess. It was the best day ever.
Unfortunately after the wish, things took a turn for the worse. May finished school for the summer holidays shortly after the wish – but sadly, unlike her friends, she never made it back. Our princess died, aged just 5 years old, on 31 August 2010.
It’s been two years since May died. Her wish means so much to us now – it was the last happy memory we have of us all being together. Just a fantastic day for us to remember.
Now we want to make sure that other families can have that same support too – a fantastic day that they can look back on if the worst does happen.
It would mean so much to me and my family if you could help. Please give what you can and help us remember May.
I’ve made a short video about what May’s wish means to us now – please share it with as many people as possible.
Thank you
Neil
