P2B4MND raising funds for MND Care & Research centre (new local charity covering Lancashire & South Cumbria), 29 September 2018
We support treatment, research and care to help make a difference at our hospitals

Story

Staff from 3 major NHS trusts Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, East Lancashire Teaching Hospitals along with Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospital join together in the fight against Motor neurone disease (MND).

The team will be lead from Royal Preston Hospital to Marks & Spencers in Burnley the total distance is 22 miles. The walk takes place on the 29th of September. This is the fourth year we have organised this walk last year we raised just under £10,000. MND is such a cruel terrible disease which is fatal and has no known cure; leaving people unable to walk, talk, or feed themselves. MND affects up to 5,000 adults in the UK at any one time. This means it is considered a relatively rare disease. Funds raised will be divided between the Motor Neurones Disease Association for Research and The MND Care Centre for education, research and monitoring equipment.
