Story
I'd just like to start with saying thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
What am I doing?
I'm going to be running the Virgin Money London Marathon on the 24th of April, 2016 and raising money for Cats Protection in the process. In addition to this, I am also taking part in the Man vs Mountain event on the 2nd of September 2016, running from Caernarfon in North Wales, to the summit of Snowdon, and then back down into Llanberris, totalling 20miles.
About me
I'm definitely a cat person, you could probably say I'm crazy about them! This is one of the reasons that I have to chosen to raise funds for Cats Protection. I started running in October 2014, starting with the local 5K Parkrun events at Arrow Valley park, in Redditch. Since then I've taken part in a handful of 10K events, and in 2015 completed 3 half-marathon distance races. In 2015, I ran a total of 630 miles throughout the year. In my training for the London Marathon, I am anticipating getting close to that, in training miles alone, so this is a massive undertaking in terms of time, effort, and challenging myself.
My training starts on the 11th of January 2016, with a plan that builds up my distance over time. I'm documenting all of my runs on both Strava (linked to my running watch) and a blog that I'm just finishing off. Please do check these out and follow along the ups and downs of my training with me.
What will my donation do?
There are thousands of cats in the UK in the care of Cats Protection, who are all in dire need of shelter, food, medicine, and most importantly - a loving, caring home. Cats Protection can offer 3 out of the 4 of these, but re-homing these poor furry fluff balls is their ultimate aim. By helping out and sponsoring me to run the London Marathon, and to run to the top of Snowdon, you'll be helpful to make the lives of these cats so much better, until they find their forever homes.
£2 - this could feed two cats, for a day.
£5 - this would pay for a microchip to help identify them in the future.
£15 - this would give a cat a cozy igloo to curl up in.
£35 - a complete health check for any cats taken in to a Cats Protection shelter.
£50 - this would enable Cats Protection to neuter a feral cat, to reduce the number of feral cats on the streets.
£150 - this is the average amount it costs to care for a single cat.
There are so many cats and kittens in need of your support and loving care, so even just £1 can help towards giving them the care they deserve.

Thank you!
Thank you again, and I really hope you can spare just a little bit to help out Cats Protection and help a cat (or two!) feel just that little bit happier this year!
As I feel that I should be putting my money where my mouth is in asking for sponsorships, I will also be donating on a regular basis myself, as well as adding to any donations on this page with a 10% contribution from myself. If you donate £10, I'll add an extra £1 - so you can give extra without it costing you any more!
