We provide music therapy to build connections

Story

My name is Phil Birch and HMTV will be my third ride with the Heavy Metal Truants. So much keeps me coming back: the physical challenge, the camaraderie in shared suffering for great causes but ultimately the difference we can make in the lives of young people who are suffering.

I'll be organising some key events with industry, friends and family to support this effort - along with throwing myself out of a perfectly good airplane. Every little helps

Raw Power proudly joins the Heavy Metal Truants for another year of cycling in aid of 3 amazing charities

Nordoff Robbins is the largest independent music therapy charity in the UK, dedicated to changing the lives of vulnerable and isolated people. It supports thousands of people in its own centres and by working in partnership with a wide range of organisations including care homes, schools and hospitals. When delivered by a trained practitioner, music therapy can help a child with autism to communicate, reduce anxiety for those living with dementia or provide comfort and celebrate the life of someone facing terminal illness.

Nordoff and Robbins is the UK’s largest music therapy charity, with a unique approach shaped by more than 60 years of practice. Through the power of music, it breaks through the barriers caused by life-limiting illness, disability and social isolation. The charity does this through providing music therapy to people across the UK, whilst also training the music therapists of the future and funding research to measure and improve the impact of its work.
