Valentines Masked Charity Ball Saturday 11th February 2017!
Ravenwood Children's Trust will be supporting the Thurston Skate Park appeal in memory of Ben Wragge as its chosen project for 2017
Ben, 13 years of age sadly lost his life after being shot with an airgun while playing with friends. His tragic death Left Ben's family, friends and the local community in shock.
The trust wants to support Thurston and the community trying to build a skate park in Ben's memory. Ben was like many young teenagers and spent lots of time at the local skate parks, Mum Claire, friends and family felt building somewhere close the local children could go a play safely would be a fitting tribute to Ben. After my toughest challenge to date in 2014, where I climbed for over 3 weeks trekking through some of the most soul destroying conditions to reach Mount Everest Base Camp. Once there it was then that I realised what the next few hours would do to my mind and body. I started the decent by taking part in the official 26.2 mile Mount Everest Marathon. It took me 26 hours to complete and sometimes I would be running at night. The kindness of the locals and Sherpa's kept me going and help me through. Now they need my help! Facing one of my biggest challenges to date. Ravenwood Children's Trust is pledging to raise vital funds this year to support the Odanadi project in India, St Nicholas Hospice Bury St Edmund's and the Children's Ward West Suffolk Hospital and East Anglia Children's Hospice.
ODANADI PROJECT INDIA. I recently visited India in November 2013 to see the progress being made to the project. I was honoured to meet Stanly and Parashu along with all the volunteers who help and run this incredible safe house. I was amazed and thrilled to see the difference made with the boys safe house. We only started supporting this project in 2013 and have already donated £10,000 to complete the building work. Odanadi is making a difference to the lives of children in India who have been affected by human trafficking. Children as young as 5 years old are taken from the streets or sold to the sex trade in India, the forgotten children. Project leaders Stanly and Parashu are dramatically improving both the health and education through participation in a rehabilitation program ensuring the children forge their own lives independence and success. The project still needs to complete the food hall and conference center with on- going cost through the year. We want to help raise another £10.000 to complete the project and provide the much needed safe environment the children need. http/www.odanadi.org
