Story
I’m running the Cardiff Half Marathon on October 1st 2017 in memory of my grandfather, Ernest who passed away following his long battle with prostate cancer. Ernest grew up in Abergavenny and although he moved away during his life, he was laid to rest there. His happiest memories were of the time he spent in the Welsh Valleys so I have decided to run in aid of Prostate Cymru. This is my first half marathon and I can think of no better cause than to run for prostate cancer.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer amongst men in the
UK, affecting 46,700 men each year. This means around 130 men are diagnosed each day in the UK. Everyone has a brother, a son, a father or a friend who may be affected by this condition.
