Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
With my dog-sledding, I managed to raise £260 for The RAF Benevolent Fund (RAFBF). I'd hoped to raise a good deal more, but everything helps, so thanks to those of you who donated!
Race season in review. The first race for the dogs was in January - the 72 km Jarfjord race near the Russian border. No problems with speed over that distance, but the weather got a bit wild and we had a bit of an unplanned stop, meaning that we lost a number of placings. February was the Bergeby race - 2 legs of 50 km. This was a good test for the youngest dogs, and again, no problems with speed. The main goal was then achieved - the 500 km Finnmark race. This was my second Finnmark race, and I have now completed two out of two, both with all 8 dogs throughout. I took the race more seriously this year, rather than just trying to get round, and we finished about 10 hours faster than last year. That was my last race of the season, but the dogs also completed the 300 km Pasvik Trail with another musher on board. Follow my progress, both on this and my home page.
