Story

Several years ago my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. Nine months ago I moved home to become a full time carer. As such it seems only fitting that the charity work I am doing should raise money to help people like my mum. I also work with a charity group called "Our Doctor Who Monsters", a group of children's entertainers who specialise in Doctor Who themed exhibits and shows. They are raising money for Alzheimer's Research UK this year also.

I only started running in January, but decided early on I wanted to have a goal in mind. Since then I have improved my distances greatly and am meeting or exceeding the targets on my suggested training programme. This will be a major milestone for me in terms of my own physical fitness and improving my confidence and self esteem in light of my own mental health struggles.
