It has been a shock learning about two much-loved and valued members of staff being diagnosed with cancer. As a result, as a staff we are passionate about fundraising for Maggie’s Centre at Freeman Hospital. (please see www.maggiescentres.org/our-centres/maggies-newcastle) For any families have not heard about the centre, it is a very special place that can bring great support to anybody whose family is touched or has been touched by cancer. It provides emotional and practical support for people and their families dealing with cancer, and somewhere that has provided comfort and support to both Mrs Dunn and Miss Minto of late.

 It is for this reason that we are planning a year-long calendar of events which will raise money for Maggie’s Centre. The money we raise over the year by fundraising for Maggie’s, will accumulate here on our school Just Giving page. If there are any parents who would like to run, raise money by sponsorship or help staff in fundraising for Maggie’s, I would be grateful if you would let me know – we would be extremely appreciative for your support.
