During my last tour of duty in Afghanistan with 42 Commando (Sept ’06 - April ’07) a close friend and troop member, Cpl Harris Tatakis, was very seriously wounded in a mine strike. To this day he is attending Headley Court Hospital for treatment and Help For Heroes' work will support him and the other Marines there.

I have organised this event to do my bit for our many other broken comrades. As I am re-deploying soon after the cycle tour, raising these funds could be a personal investment too!

I don't cycle apart from training and taking part in an annual triathlon, but hey, how hard can it be?
