What am I Doing?

I am raising money for Onelife which is the Charity I have been working for since November 2008

On July 1st I am doing a 28km bike ride (with 6 others) from where I live in Chorleywood to the Ugandan embassy in London.

My effort is part of a bigger fundraising event called 'The Onelife Challenge' which Tom, our Onelife Intern, has been responsible for running. Over the weekend 1st-3rd July young people all over UK are doing a sponsored run, cycle or walk for Onelife and that together, adding up all the distances, we are covering the ENTIRE DISTANCE AROUND THE UK - 4,500km! We are hoping to raise well over £5,000.

Why give to Onelife?

If the news is anything to go by the UK is plagued with many problems: unemployment, scandals, addiction, family breakdown, teenage pregnancy etc. ( See Centre for Social Justice's 2006 report on 'Breakdown Britain'). British teenagers are written off as people who drink more, learn less and are burdens to society. They have 'everything to live with but nothing to live for'. I believe Onelife's work can change this.

  

What does Onelife do?

  

Onelife works with 14-21 year olds to equip them to become strong, Godly, commited leaders who really make a difference with their one life. Their mission is by 2025 the church, government, businesses,media and education will be transformed by the characterful leaders within them.

  

Onelife does this by running conferences and learning programmes based on character and biblical teaching as well as practical leadership skills such as emotional and relational intelligence.

 

Everyone has a legacy they leave beyond their lifetimes. What will people say about you? How are you using your one life?
