Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
On June 27th, I will be running the 'Classic Quarter'' ultramarathon in aid of two charities. The event starts at Lizard Point (the most southerly point in the UK) and follows the South West Coast Path to Land's End (the most westerly point in the UK, hence the Quarter, from quarter of the compass!) - a total distance of 44 miles, and more ups and downs than I care to consider! I have been training specifically for this event for the last 6 months, during which time I have run over 600 miles, including my first marathon in April. I am doing the event because it represents a considerable challenge, and pushes the boundaries of what I have done before. Given this commitment, I would like to raise as much as I can for my two chosen charities.
The reason I am supporting this charity is that my family has been directly affected by Huntington's Disease. The
HDA is a UK registered charity which supports people affected by Huntington's disease (HDA), and provides information and advice to families, friends and healthcare professionals whose task it is to support Huntington's disease families. The HDA have been there to help support our family through recent difficult times.
PLEASE NOTE - I am also collecting for the
Cornwall Hospice Care (CHC), an organisation who offer a unique and valuable service to the people of Cornwall at the time that they need it most. If you have the time, I would really appreciate your support for this other very worthy cause! You can reach my other fundraising page at:
Pete's CHC fundraising page: http://www.justgiving.co.uk/petermiles_CHCDonating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Huntington's Disease Association gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
