Penrillian is one of the UK’s longest-established mobile software companies. We produce bespoke software for clients ranging from start-ups, through specialists such as 2Ergo and Oberthur, to leading brands such as MasterCard, EE, O2 and Vodafone.

One of the secrets of our success is that we enjoy what we do. Our staff know how important it is to have a team spirit, good morale, work hard and, most importantly, how to have fun. That's why as the dark nights started to draw in and Christmas got ever closer we decided to hold a Penrillian version of the Great British Bake Off.

Staff were invited to join in a competition of baking, with five rounds ranging from Sponge cakes to International bakes. Judging was done by the bakers themselves, scoring each of their colleagues’ bakes. Each round had a star baker, and the scores from each round were combined to determine the overall winner. By the time Christmas arrived the table in the kitchen groaned under the weight of cake and the staff at Penrillian were a few pounds heavier!

The quality and variety of the bakes was so exceptional that Penrillian would like to share the recipes with their friends, colleagues and acquaintances. As mobile experts, we chose to make this Penrillian Charity Bake app.

A request, and thanks

Of course, when summer comes we'll be back out on the hills, walking, running, mountain biking and climbing. Like so many of the millions who enjoy our Lake District hills, we value the fantastic service of the Great North Air Ambulance.
